Synergy between logistics and real estate management
WestLog DC entered on the logistics market
149 000 square meters of new warehouse space was handed over in Hungary last year, approximately one fourth of which was city-logistics development. Managing Director of Colliers International Budapest Real Estate Agency, Michael Smithing thinks that the complete amount of 1.1 million square meters of leasable warehouse space presently available on the market may be considered a very low number considering Hungarian trading and logistics structure. Therefore he assessed as a significant event in terms of both logistics and the real estate market that the logistics center of 68.000 square meters known as the largest real estate of Rynart has been marketed again.
The aim of the owner is the utilization of the logistics center of unique characteristics renamed as WestLog Distribution Center for which they are looking for new tenants or even a logistics service provider with whom the complex would be managed in a special joint venture structure.
Following major renovations and maintenance operations, real estate agents were invited to visit and get to know the centre on April 15th 2008, where they enjoyed a working breakfast combined with a detailed presentation on the facility and a tour of the warehouse. Thus, they got to know the workings of the centre in which the first tenants had already set up their shops.
Beside the "everything under one roof" concept (which includes warehousing, cross-docking, packaging, high-tech operations, value-added services, office administration and the like), the possibility to move in immediately and the flexible line of leasing options make the complex all the more alluring to tenants.
